About MAHDY EMARA

World renowned dance teacher and choreographer Mahdy Emara is one of the most requested artists of the international oriental dance scene.

Born in Cairo, Egypt, he studied in the best dance institute from Egypt. Teaching from a young age, he soon choreographed big stage productions.

For a long time Mahdy has been based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. There he founded his dance school and dance group "Baladi", performing not only locally but all over Europe. He also organized his dance festivals and hosted super stars like Dina from Egypt, and stars from other places. Moreover, Mahdy teaches and performs at the biggest belly dance festivals in the world.

Many talented international dancers were trained by Mahdy Emara.

The Master teacher will also train and coach you to become a full multifaceted belly dancer in Oriental and Egyptian dance.

what is

"Dance for Dancers" ?

Have you always wanted to study authentic Egyptian dance technique? And to not only perform and show your skills but also grow and evolve from feedback?

"Dance for Dancers" is exactly that!

"Dance for Dancers" is a monthly educational event with focus on studying and perfecting your oriental dance technique, performing in a warm circle of fellow dancers, and getting personal feedback and direction for improving.

Every event will start with a 2-hours workshop where Mahdy will explain and teach the history and background of a particular Egyptian dance style and technique. We will study Baladi, Classic, Tarab, Ghawazi, Shaabi, and Eskandarani, and show the difference between all of these belly dance styles, he will also talk about its place of origin, music, movements and customs. On each masterclass you will learn new techniques and a short choreography.

After the workshop we will have a lunch break and time to prepare for the performance for an audience of other dancers. This show is an open level opportunity to dance any choreography; it can be solo, duo, or as a group. Everyone is welcome to shimmy & shine!

At the end of it we will get an Egyptian dance show from Mahdy!

The show will be recorded for your own use. The main feature you will get with this performance is a personal video message with feedback from Mahdy Emara that you will get via email or WhatsApp just a few days later. This way, you can analyze and improve your dance in the best way possible.

"Dance for Dancers" will be hosted every 1st Sunday of the month.
